Platform details for train departures

Is the departing platform number not provided in the National Rail data feed? Or have you chosen not to display it? I can see there might be a "real estate" issue. But it looks as though there's just enough space for it...

I can't quite remember, but I think we do get platform information (at least for some stations and services, though not all). I think the logic for omitting it was partly to do with screen "real estate" but mainly becasue 'Smart Screens' are likely to be located some distance from the nearest station where future timings would be useful but details such a platform number (which can be, and probably have to be, checked on arrival at the station) won't. It's quite possible this view is wrong.

Personally I find being given advance info re platforms useful - even if it's sometimes overruled by local operational decisions. Knowing one has to hike over to platforms 7 or 8 at Cambridge is helpful (as well as dispiriting...). But I appreciate there's no "right" answer!

Thanks for the input - I've noted this for posible future deveopment. At the very least we could probably make including platform number an option that SmartScreen managers could opt into.
