Re: Current air quality data

  By: jw35 on Feb. 20, 2020, 10:14 a.m.

Some AQ data collected by the City Council is available at https://www.airqualityengland.co.uk/local-authority/?la_id=51 I'm not aware of any other currently-available data or of any plans to collect any. That's ot to say there aren't plans somewhe…

Car park data problems

  By: jw35 on Jan. 2, 2020, 10:22 a.m.

The car park occupancy data we receive from the County Council for the Grand Arcade, Newmarket Road Rear and Milton car parks has been erratic or missing since some time in November. This is apparently a side effect of a project to upgrade the car p…

Introducing the 'Download API'

  By: jw35 on Dec. 17, 2019, 11:09 a.m.

The API we introduced last year has proved useful, but feedback has shown that many potential users just want a simple way to download data in bulk so it can be imported into other analysis packages. While the existing API can do this, doing so requ…

Re: Introducing the SmartCambridge API

Right - I've taken a look at this. I suspect this API endpoint isn't going to be much use to people outside the SmartCambridge project.

This endpoint takes a list of SIRI-VM records that have been converted to a JSON format that we use internally …

Re: Fendon Road roadworks - effect on journey times

  By: jw35 on Sept. 16, 2019, 11:50 a.m.

I've tweaked the graphs slightly to split the 'hourly mean journey time' set into two - one before and one after the start of the Fendon Road works. There are clear differences, but remember that this is close to before and after the start of school…

Fendon Road roadworks - effect on journey times

  By: jw35 on Sept. 12, 2019, 1:49 p.m.

Earlier this week work started to rebuild the roundabout at the junction of Fendon Road, Mowbrary Road and Queen Edith's Way near Addenbrokes. This is a busy junction and the work involves road closures and temporary traffic lights. You'd expect it …

How big is your car park?

  By: jw35 on Sept. 9, 2019, 1:34 p.m.

It's easy enough to fit a car park with entry and exit counters and from them work out how many cars are inside at any one time. But what most people want to know is how many free spaces there are, and to work that out you need to know the car park'…

Slightly-broken car park graphs

  By: jw35 on Sept. 2, 2019, 10:20 a.m.

There's currently a minor problem with the car park occupancy graph for Trumpington.

Until recently, the only feed we had of car park occupancy was a text based one intended for human consumption that said things like:

Car park P&R Trumping…

Re: Peterborough Area

  By: jw35 on July 11, 2019, 10:33 a.m.

Not really. Doing so requires some rework of how we import timetable data (it's already too slow and adding 'East Midlands' would make that worse). This isn't particularly difficult but at the moment other work is taking priority.

Screenshot, given that StageCoach tend to delete these announcements:

Re: Changes to bus routes at Addenbroke's

  By: jw35 on June 25, 2019, 11:32 a.m.

The situation at Addenbroke's is now complicated by a failure of the bollards on the road outside the Royal Papworth. Stagecoach's Service Announcement is here (and there's a copy below) so it looks as if the services have reverted to the old route.…

We'd be very happy to talk. Drop us a line at info@smartcambridge.org and we'll sort something out.

Changes to bus routes at Addenbroke's

  By: jw35 on April 30, 2019, 9:53 a.m.

On Monday 29 April, Stagecoach's Busway A and Busway D services were rerouted at Addenbrooke's Hospital. Unfortunately these changes haven't made it to the Traveline National Dataset from which we derive timetables and routes for our various web pag…
